Welcome to European Tech Hub Birr

Birr Technology Centre is an established business hub in the centre of Ireland, that provides flexible as well as long-term work spaces and networking possibilities for start-ups, and small and medium sized businesses. It forms part of a new hub network – European Tech Hub Network – with hubs in Birr, Dublin and Berlin.
The Buildings
Birr Technology Centre comprises two buildings, with over 20,000 sq ft of serviced offices:
- The Technology Building, a modern Grade A office building, with 15,847 sq-ft (1,472 sqm) of office space.
- The Enterprise Building, a separate, custom-designed, small-business building, with 4,144 sq ft (385 sqm).
The spaces are organised into 35 different offices ranging from spaces for small teams; individual one person offices, to flexible large open plan floor-plates and co-working spaces.

Flexible short term office bookings and secure long term leases are available depending on the needs of our members.

The great hub within a hub
Since 2019, Stream Birr have delivered extensive hub services and much more within Birr Technology Centre. Focussing on key sectors, in particular, Big Data research and applications, Stream provides a bright nucleus within the centre. Pioneering co-working and remote working spaces and forging linkages with local, regional and national research institutions, Stream Birr is tapping into Birr’s rich research heritage and creating a new era of groundbreaking research.

Historic and
Innovative Birr
Birr, Co. Offaly´s second largest town, is best known for Birr Castle & Gardens, and what was the largest telescope in the world for over 70 years. Its beautiful Georgian terraces and square, and busy town centre attract visitors throughout the year. Today, Birr is building on its innovative and research past. Examples include the I-LOFAR radio telescope centre; Grant Engineering and award winning energy solutions innovator; Buy4Less, a leading ecommerce player in building supplies.
Birr is located 140 km from Dublin with good connectivity via the M7 and M6/M4 Routes. Tullamore, 36 km, and Athlone, Co. Westmeath, at 42 km, are two large neighbouring towns with a strong commercial base and employment in a wide range of sectors - from healthcare, agri-business to higher education and public services.
